Sam Mangubat has been named the new champion of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on Tuesday after beating defending champion Emmalou Cruz with his soulful rendition of Westlife’s “Flying Without Wings.”

Cruz, on the other hand, sang “Luha” by Aegis.

Mangubat received 95.6% from the judges while Cruz got only 92.4%
