ASTRO’s Moonbin Confirmed Dead
K-pop company Fantagio confirmed the death of ASTRO member Moonbin amidst the viral news on social media. He was 25.
“First, we apologize for having to convey this sorrowful and heartbreaking news. On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and has now become a star in the sky,” Fantagio released in their statement on Thursday morning.
“Although it cannot compare to the grief of the bereaved family that had to part with their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been together with him for a long time, are also deeply mourning the departed amidst tremendous shock and sorrow,” it added.
Moonbin, whose real name is Moon Bin, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and actor. He was born on January 26, 1998, in Cheongju, South Korea. Moonbin is best known as lead dancer of the popular K-pop boy group, ASTRO. K-drama Megastar Cha Eun Woo is his fellow member.
Moonbin was discovered by Fantagio Entertainment during a dance competition when he was just 13 years old. After training under the agency for several years, he made his debut as a member of ASTRO in 2016. The group quickly gained popularity with their energetic performances, catchy songs, and charming personalities.
As a member of ASTRO, Moonbin has released numerous hit songs such as “Hide & Seek,” “Breathless,” and “All Night.” He has also acted in several dramas and TV shows, including “The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning,” “Moments of 18,” and “Please Find Her.”
