Despite the astounding display of influence in social media this month, BTS members Jungkook and Kim Taehyung did not improve their Brand Reputation Rankings on the latest tally for Idol Boy Group Members for May 2020 by the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation. Recently, Taehyung‘s “soft” promotion of a popular smartphone went viral on Twitter and TikTok. Plus his #StayingAtHomeChallenge video on Twitter last April has amassed 14 million views so far. The same thing with Jungkook, his “Never Not” cover last May 2 broke the record for the fastest tweet in 2020 to reach 1 million likes–2 hours! It also set the record for the Most Commented Tweet of All Time and the Fastest Twitter Video to Get 1 Million Views–10 minutes!
I think ARMYs should now ask the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation on why Jungkook remains in 4th place and why Kim Taehyung even dropped from 5th last month to sixth place this May!
If there’s any consolation, at least Jimin is still at no. 1 of the rankings on his 17th consecutive month. Among 630 boy group members, the BTS vocalist/dancer is the most trusted by brands with 7,496,181 points. EXO and SuperM’s Baekhyun climbed to no. 2 this month from 3rd last April with 5,608,321 points. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo captured third position with 5,406,125 points.
