Miranda, who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Tourism Queen International 2013 wanted to replicate the success of Mutya Johanna Datul who clinched the 5th Miss Supranational crown on September 7, and Megan Young, who was just crowned Miss World 2013 on September 28.
The 21-year-old TV host and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate is competing against 43 other candidates in the 8th edition of Miss Tourism Queen International pageant.
“I have prepared for this my whole life, and I have been praying to win,” Miranda was quoted as saying during her send off party last week.
Miranda was trained for the ramp by Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Venus Raj. She has also taken a personality development and speech training.
“I’m not just gunning for the crown,” Miranda said. “I want to bring home the title to give pride to the country, especially with all the calamities and problems the country is facing now.”
