MVP’s Speech Well Applauded at the Adcon22

TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) gave a lively “rockstar” speech at the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress, which was highlighted by the historic moment of having the three chairmen of the country’s three leading networks on the same stage at the same time.

The presence of the three network chiefs onstage was the event’s showstopper as the delegates hastened to capture the rare moment on camera, but it was the speech given by MVP that drew the most applause and cheers from the enthusiastic audience. With “Change the Game” as the AdCon22 battlecry, MVP was able to expound on the event’s theme by sharing the game-changing innovations being ushered by his multimedia conglomerate (which includes TV5, PLDT, Smart, Cignal Digital Cable, among others) –- and he did so in a very candid and engaging manner, to the delight of the audience.

MVP’s speech centered on the three key messages of consumer empowerment, the empowerment of content generators, and how advertising “could adjust to the realities of future media as you see it”.

The Twitterverse was also very much alive with tweets from impressed delegates and viewers (those who watched the event’s TV and online coverage) during MVP’s speech. As the TV5 chairman talked about the impending “digital tsunami” and how he wants to greet it with “d2 na me”, eager tweeters couldn’t help but be amazed at how such a genius could be so “humble and innovative”.

Twitter user @veg2go commented “Kudos to the Big 3 for inspiring us but personally dig MVP’s. Candid and straight jabs. #AdCon22 #MVP” while @iamrainramos said “I love MVP and the way he answers the questions thrown by his colleagues. TV5 should be proud. They’re in good hands. #AdCon22”.

Clearly, MVP was able to connect with the young generation as he gave an example of how a typical youth today would rely so much on digital technology and the Internet in his day-to-day life. He gave a highly informative and enlightening speech, and it made it all the more evident why all businesses he handles eventually become No.1.
