Suspension Of Classes and Government Work Declared in NCR Today, August 2

The Malacañang Palace has declared suspension of classes in all levels today, August 2, due to heavy rains brought about by typhoon Kabayan. The palace also declared suspension of work in government companies starting 1 p.m. The declaration was based from the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council or (NDRRMC).

Here is the tweet from Malacañang earlier today:

“Pres Spokesperson: Upon recommendation of NDRRMC, the ES has declared suspension of college classes & gov work in NCR effective 1pm.”

The Department of Education (DepEd) has earlier suspended classes in Kindergarten to High School levels in NCR and CALABARZON. Here are the details:

NCR: Because of continuous rains & PAGASA’s prediction of heavy rainfall, classes are suspended in Kinder, Elem and HS today, August 2.

CALABARZON: No classes in Calamba City, Rodriguez Rizal and Rosario Cavite today, August 2.

CALABARZON: No classes in Calamba City, Rodriguez Rizal and Rosario Cavite today, August 2, for Kinder, Elementary and HS.

Reminder: College level is not under DepEd. Please contact your respective school administrators. Thank you.

@SanMateoRizal: Classes are suspended today, August 2, in San Mateo, Rizal from Preschool to Highschool in all PUBLIC Schools only.

Mayor Ilagan of Cainta, Rizal suspended classes at 9:00am today, August 2.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast possible heavy rain Tuesday morning, prompting the DepEd Metro Manila office to suspend classes up to high school for the day and including college this afternoon.
