Entertainment Weekly has released their "11 to Watch in 2011" list and our very own Charice is one of them.

Charice who is at No. 9 had this write-up written about her:

“YouTube, Ellen, and Oprah may have helped bring us this pint-size star with the powerhouse pipes, but the 18-year-old (last name: Pempengco) made her own splash on Glee’s season 2 premiere playing Sunshine Corazon. She’ll be back this spring to wow us.”

    Charice is clearly in different league, just accept the fact the she sings differently
    those singers you are saying are good, yes they are all good, but there is the difference and that’s something charice’s have, don’t take “luck” as an excuse
    she will not be invited on that shows if she’s not talented an a great singer
    she works hard for her achievement and not just rely on mere “luck”
    MOST singer in the Phil already performed in diff parts of the world but no one got interested in mainstream music, even Lea Salonga tried to go mainstream but failed and she had all the hyped she could after winning the hearts of the people watching Ms Saigon, but then, she didn’t make it far in the mainstream music arena.

    Charice is simply the best among all Filipino singers right now. And no one can beat her at the moment. WHY? Because if someone could go near Charice level, David Foster could have discovered them as well.

    Remember…ipinakita ni Charice ang mga videos ng other Filipino singers like “Ate Sarah”…..and ang response ni Mr. David Foster? Malaking DEDMA!!! Ibig sabihin nun….sa tingin ni Mr. David Foster, as of now, wala pang nakakalevel sa galing ni Charice from among the Filipino Singers….. so sad but that’s the reality. And let’s just accept it.

    If magaling talaga ang ating mga signers, don’t worry madediscover din sila….let’s just celebrate Charice success at wag maging bitter!!!

    all u idiots…charice is not different from any artist in the philippines…she had the hype surrounding her and thats what made people interested in her…not because she has an “ït” quality or she has a more powerful soulful melodic voice…people noticed her and got interested because of the hypre surrounding her after she appeared on star king and eventually on ellen degeneres…of course people are gonna take notice when ellen says shes a great singer…dont compare charice to other artists and says shes bettet than them..she just got lucky and got her break unlike other artists in the phils…u people give charice too much credit…im not bashing charice or do i hate her…in fact im proud of her…but dont start bashing other filipino artists and say shes better than the rest…only idiots without filipino pride and people with crab mentalities would think that…

    There’s so many great singers in the philippines like Regine and Sarah and yes they can hit high notes but Charice’s vocal texture and quality are different, it’s so thick and so dense with soulful and melodic tone, and she sings with so much emotions and she sings fluently.Many can do high notes a dozen a dime but few are learn to use their voice with mastery,these are great singers not mere high notes noise makers…
