Charice Rocks Glee’s Red Carpet Premiere Party

The 18-year-old Youtube sensation has a recurring role on Glee as Sunshine Corazon, a Filipino exchange student at fictional William McKinley High School “whose killer vocals get Rachel (Berry) contemplating murder.”
In an interview at the red carpet, Charice said her character is very much like her in real life.
“I’m very, very happy that my character is Sunshine. Sunshine is very, very Charice, simple one, shy type,” she said.
In season 2’s pilot episode, Charice‘s character is being pitted to Rachele Berry (Lea Michele).
“We’re like frenemies, I think that’s the word… and we’re gonna sing a very, very big song, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. It’s ‘Telephone.’ So, it’s gonna be amazing,” she said.

May: Am wondering why there is so much hatred against Charice. All she’s doing is trying to blaze the trail for other singers to be able to be accepted by the U.S. music industry. I’m flabbergasted and can’t see any reason why her fellow Filipinos are not boosting her morale. Has she done you something really really bad that you should react this way? No wonder our country is in such a sorry state – many Filipinos can’t see the good in anyone and in anything.
To FURY: Right, she has room for improvement, but you should give her credit for having improved her English in a short time. Many Filipinos can’t even write nor speak perfect English, and we’re supposed to be the third largest English speaking country.

TO FLO: Reading your entries, I felt like I was in a public market. The words are so “bakya” and uncivilized. They can only come from someone who has not even finished Grade I, someone without a hint of class, not even a trace. Why don’t you go back to school and focus on character education.

Charice has gone a long way and can speak in English much better than before, and this improvement she was able to achieve in a short time. I have to applaud her. You people should be proud of her instead of nitpicking. She is blazing the trail for our Filipino and Asian singers, opening the door to the U.S. market which has always been biased against Asian singers. She is a brave girl – one would be blind not to see that.

To carebear, wiseman, sarah: You become loathsomely orgiastic when Charice’s fans express their ebullience over her. Well, she has her haters but she also receives a plethora of praises. Charice will reach her zenith, which is way above the rest, and she will stay there for a long long time. Further, is that all you can say – mukhang katulong – can’t you express yourself better in a positive way? Upon reading your entries, I felt I was suddenly transported to a public market.

i don’t get it really, from an English speaking country such as the U.S. and you will hear people having wrong grammar when i talk to them on the telephone (BPO) when they have complaints about anything. Correct English is spoken in England,
