Lifestyle show “Metro Home” takes a closer look at the Laperal Mansion, once honored as the most beautiful house during its time, in a special episode airing this Sunday (June 9) at 8:30 pm on Metro Channel.In celebration of Independence Day, “Metro Home” hosts Anton Barretto and Jessica Kienle Maxwell tour viewers around the elegant two-story European house located at the heart of the Malacanang compound that now serves as the Presidential Guest House.The Laperal Mansion was formerly known as the Arlegui Guesthouse and built a century ago. It was previously an office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and also became the official residence of two former presidents of the country, Cory Aquino and Fidel V. Ramos.It recently underwent renovation to showcase world-class Filipino artistry, with each room becoming a love letter to past presidents of the country. The beautiful house boasts of 14 bedrooms and 5 state rooms that relive different parts of the country’s history and pay tribute to leaders of yesteryears through its design.
