POPTV Honors All Kinds of Moms this May

It’s a month-long celebration of mothers’ love on POPTV as the newest Pinoy streaming service highlights movies for all kinds of moms this May.

Now with over 500,000 users on Android devices alone, POPTV brings back and premieres the 2010 period drama movie “Rosario” topbilled by ultimate star Jennylyn Mercado and directed by actor Albert Martinez this May 9.

An official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival in 2010, “Rosario” tells the empowering story of Rosario Pereira, a young and liberated woman who is born ahead of her time. Set in 1920s Philippines, “Rosario” gets involved with different men and bravely defies moral restrictions in pursuit of her own truth and desires.

The movie, which is about the grandmother of TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan, won different awards from MMFF, PMPC Star Awards, Luna Awards, and Famas Awards.

Aside from “Rosario,” POPTV also streams the iconic movie “Anak” starring Claudine Barretto and Vilma Santos, and “Batang PX” starring Zsa Zsa Padilla and Patrick Garcia back-to-back on May 15 and 16.

There are moms by blood and there are also moms by choice just like the characters of Trisha, played by Paolo Ballesteros in “Die Beautiful,” and Mariel, played by Sharon Cuneta in “Madrasta,” streaming this May 22 and 23.

Lastly, POPTV also honors dads that play the role of moms as it streams the movies “Northern Lights” starring Piolo Pascual, and “Home Along Da Riles The Movie,” starring King of Comedy Dolphy in his unforgettable role as Mang Kevin Cosme, this May 29 and 30.
