The GEMS Awards have been given to outstanding achievements in mass media including broadcast and movie categories. Cignal TV and TV5 have made good on its promise to deliver high quality shows since its relaunch last August by sweeping both news and entertainment categories.

The 5th GEMS Awards awarding ceremonies will be held online this February, with the winners accepting their plaques via recorded videos. Founded in April 2016, GEMS-Hiyas ng Sining is an award-giving body recognizing outstanding achievements in the fields of print, digital, stage, radio, television, and film. This year marks its first for adding a digital media category to its list of awards.
