The global netizens have spoken! The winner of 2019’s Asian Drama of the Year is The Untamed from China!
The epic drama series starred Asian heartthrobs Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. It follows the adventures of two cultivators who travel to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit. It aired in China on Tencent Video from June 27 to August 20, 2019.
“The Untamed” topped our online poll for Asian Drama of the Year with 10,730 votes or 49.26% of the total 21,781 votes beating 11 other finalists from Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, and the Philippines.

This year’s runner-up is South Korea’s Arthdal Chronicles. The historical period drama series which starred Song Joong-Ki settled for 2nd place by virtue of 5,195 votes or 23.84% it received from netizens.
Philippines’ The General’s Daughter finished in third place. Completing the Top 5 are South Korea’s “Hotel del Luna” and “Love Alarm.”
