When the clock hits 12 noon, a number of Phnom Penh residents, especially the housewives and sellers, rush to turn on the television and tune into MyTV, a local channel in Cambodia airing the Kapuso TV series.
It will be no surprise that if ever Marian Rivera will visit Cambodia, she will be treated as if it was “Super Junior” visiting the Philippines.
Prior to “Amaya,” several Filipino TV series already became hit in the Southeast Asian country.
The first, “Impostors,” was shown early in 2013. It’s the local adaptation of the GMA teleserye, “Impostora,” starring Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon. It was a big hit among Cambodian televiewers.
The second show is entitled, “Sonn-ya Snea,” adapted from ABS-CBN’s classic teleserye “Pangako sa ’Yo,” starring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. It is currently showing on CTN-MyTV.
