RuPaul is Back with Season 4 of ‘Drag Race’

RuPaul is back to play host, mentor and inspiration for the contestants of the fourth season search for “America’s next drag superstar.”


RuPaul’s Drag Race, if you have been living under a rock, is a reality TV competition for drag queens.

The show aired its pilot in May 2008 on MTV and on February 2, 2009 on Logo.

The show was marked as the most watched series on Logo in its first season, and it became the most streamed series ever on during its second. The title of the show is a play on drag queen and drag racing, with the title sequence and theme song “Covergirl (Put the Bass in Your Walk)” both having a drag racing theme. Both the contestants and fans are affectionately referred to as “Racers.”

Now on its 4th season, RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres January 30, 2012.
This season’s winner will headline Logo’s Drag Race Tour featuring Absolut Vodka, wins a one-of-a-kind trip courtesy of, a lifetime supply of NYX Cosmetics, a cash prize of $100,000, and the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

The cash prize for season four marks the largest grand prize the show has offered to date. It’s also the first season since season one to not feature any contestants from Atlanta after two contestants from that city were cast in both seasons two and three.

Guest judges for this season include Pamela Anderson, Billy B., Natalie Cole, Loretta Devine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rick Fox, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Wynonna Judd, Regina King, Ross Mathews, Rose McGowan, Jeffrey Moran, Max Mutchnick, Kelly Osbourne, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, Pauley Perrette, Amber Riley, Mike Ruiz, Jennifer Tilly, Dan Savage, John Salley and Nicole Sullivan.
