Rivalry Intensifies among Mentors in ‘Protégé’ this Sunday

Fierce face-off continues this Sunday on GMA-7's Protégé, the Battle for the Big Break.

GMA Network’s Protégé: The Battle for the Big Break has indeed taken the country by storm! Now on its second face-off round, more drama, more excitement and more powerful performances are expected not just from the aspirants but from the celebrity mentors themselves.

Last week, the hopefuls from Cebu, Iloilo and Cabanatuan unleashed fierce performances that resulted to a nerve-wracking and heartbreaking announcement delivered by the mentors to their protégés.

In the end, Kenneth Monico of Cabanatuan became Jay-R’s protégé, Nomer Limatog Jr. from Cebu became the Protégé of Rachelle Ann Go and Lirah Bermudez from Capiz became Janno Gibbs’ Protégé.

This Sunday, seven slots remain and a fresh wave of Protégés from Naga, Batangas, Davao and Cagayan de Oro will outsing each other in the hopes of advancing to the next stage of the competition. The Protégés from each region will battle for a chance to be part of the live gala.

To secure their place in the Final 10, the featured Protégés in this episode are taking the battle to a personal level.

The four members of Men of Soul and Talent from Batangas have encountered professional differences. Witness their brewing conflict caught-on-tape. Find out if they’ll be able to enthral the judges with a soulful group performance.

Aside from the Protégés’ head on performances, intense mentor rivalries are also on the rise.

Claire dela Fuente and Imelda Papin were reported to have unleashed strong words against each other as they condition their Protégés against their fellow contenders. Who is the better mentor? Which group will stand-out?

Because her reputation is at stake, mentor Aiza Seguerra expresses a tirade of strong criticisms backstage, when her protégés did not meet her expectations during their respective music acts.

And finally, the little Cinderella of Davao, Lovely Embuscado continues her Protégé journey this week. From singing to her pet pigs in their “babuyan” set in the poorest and remotest village of Davao.see Lovely sing her way to her big break in front of judges Joey de Leon, Homer Flores and Direk Bert de Leon. Will her golden voice serve as her ticket to the live gala? Or will this be the end of the line for the beloved Davaoeña?

An outpour of raw talent and backstage drama unfold as the face off round continues with rage in Protégé: The Battle for the Big Break this Sunday, October 2, after Kap’s Amazing Stories only on GMA 7.

  1. at no.3 – tama ka jan..very obvious na gelly de belen lang yang no.2 na yan dahil mas maganda at magagaling ang mga talents ng protege kesa sa mga talent search na naglipana sa tv..actually, napansin ko na ung mga rejected sa protege are those best talents sa mga shows ng abs…me ganoon? pro totoo, ang gagaling ng mga talents ng protege, talagang pinoy at world class…sori ha..opinion ko lang po yan based on reality..lols

to no.2 – kala mo naman ang dami mong alam, at para lang ma emphasize ang pagiging luka luka mo na kapamilya ay talagang to the max na mas maganda ang francise kesa copying? eh di pagalitan mo ang mga creative writers ng abscbn dahil most of them are doing this…ang protege fyi is kitang kita na may ibang twist kesa sa mga ginagawa ng abscbn…puro francise..sa madaling salita…gayagaya puto maya…belat

Protege has 10 mentors and each mentor should have 3 members, so in all merong 30 na contestants, parang the Voice lang, 4 coaches, 8 members for each coach tapos 32 lahat-lahat ng contestants. I admire gma for making their own reality shows pero isn’t it obvious na gumagaya lang sila sa iba. And fyi Nikolai, FRANCHISING is BETTER than COPYING. You see, buti nalang ang franchise eh may basbas ka mula sa orihinal rather than COPYING. Just wanna enlighten your dark mind Nikolai 🙂

  4. The panel of judges has the authority. Unlike other judges from other talent shows. Bungisngis lang nakuha na ang emosyon ng nanonood
