The first ever Miss World Philippines winner is pageant veteran Gwendolyn Ruais.

Gwendolyn Ruais has been crowned by no less than the reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills of the United States of America during the Miss World Philippines 2011 finals at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Sunday night.

Miss World Philippines 2011 was hosted by Kapuso leading man Dingdong Dantes, Isabelle Daza and Carla Abellana.

Mark Bautista and Aljur Abrenica serenaded the 25 contestants.

The panel of judges is composed of Wilma Galvante, Vicki Belo, Maria Cristina Coronoa, Iza Calzado, Fanny Serrano and Manny Pacquiao.

Gwendolyn Ruais, the first ever winner of Miss World Philippines, takes home P1 million cash, a brand new condominium unit from SMDC, and GMA-7 management contract. Ruais will represent the Philippines in the Miss World 2011 beauty pageant to be held in London this November.
