Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Team Beats Defending Champion Korea

The underrated Philippine Volcanoes rugby team has stunned defending champions South Korea on the opening day of the Shanghai Rugby Sevens.

The Philippine Volcanoes beat the no. 1 seeded Koreans 19-14 after earlier crashing the United Arab Emirates 24-7. From being under the radar (CNN even missed the Philippines in their list of participating countries), the Philippine now looms as the team to beat.

The Philippine Volcanoes were ranked No. 5 going into the tournament but after beating UAE and Korea, they are now the leader in Group 2.

They will face the team that finishes second in Group D where the teams from China, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan are competing.

Group B is composed of powerhouse Japan, Thailand and Chinese-Taipei while Group C is made up of Hongkong, Malaysia and Mongolia.

If you’ve been living under a rock, the Philippine Volcanoes are the hot men in their undies as seen on giant billboards across EDSA for a period of time and was later pulled down upon order by Mayor Abalos.

After Bench hired them as underwear endorsers, they are now getting the attention that they deserve because unknown to many, they’ve been bringing honor to the Philippines for more than 3 years now.

And I must say that after the Azkals, the whole country is now ready to catch the Philippine Volcanoes fever!
