Miss World Philippines to Air on GMA-7

While Bb. Pilipinas transferred to ABS-CBN, its rival pageant Miss World Philippines will air on GMA-7.

Last January, Bb. Pilipinas via its chairperson Stella Araneta Marquez has inked a deal with ABS-CBN (CLICK HERE FOR RELATED ARTICLE). For the next 5 years, the Bb. Pilipinas annual pageant will no longer air on GMA-7 as it will now be seen on the Kapamilya network.

Also earlier this year, Bb. Pilipinas has lost the franchise of the prestigious Miss World pageant to Cory Quirino‘s CQ Global Quest Inc. The said company will now hold the search for the country’s representative to Miss World pageant beginning this year.

Now a significant rival of Bb. Pilipinas, CQ Global Quest Inc. inked a deal with GMA Network for the production and airing of Miss World Philippines 2011.

Composer and arranger Louie Ocam­po will write the theme song of the newly-born pageant while sculptor Eduardo Castrillo will design the crown.

Present in the signing of agreement are GMA Network president and chief operating officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.; CQ Global Quest Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Cory Quirino; CQ vice president Vic Alcuaz; GMA senior vice president for entertainment Wilma V. Galvante; vice president for entertainment Marivin T. Arayata; senior program manager Bang Arespacochaga; program manager Ali Nocom Dedicatoria; composer Louie Ocampo and creative consultant for entertainment musicals and specials Agnes S. Caballa.

    MU ang pinaka prestigious pageant so far, big production, glitz and glam the best ang MU, ang MW nmn, boring nung naponood ko onetime… ang haba kasi ng pageant nila… more on physical sila, jan yata may integration ng sports.. 2nd sila sa ranking ng mga pageants, nauungusan na ng ME ang MI sa 3rd spot…un lng….

    dahil malaki nawala sa GMA ang binibini nga nakipag-agawan sila para mkuha ang ms.world phils., e ok lang na humiwalay ang MS. WORLD franchise sa iba kasi nga laging mali pinapadala natin aminin man nila o hindi sa binibini.

    anyway atleast makakapagconcentrate sila sa 1 lang winner, e yung MUTYA NG PILIPINAS wala na rin naman kwenta e. e originally sa MUTYA NG PILIPINAS ang ms. world franchise.

    anyway yung kanguso na off topic, FYI! ang GMA di makapagproduce ng sariling morning variety and noontime show, kasi TIPID kaya wala nga daw kunong UTANG E!yabang! DI NAMAN SILA may ari ng EB! panapat pa sa SHOWTIME mga lumang 5 beses ng pinapalabas na movies na walang kwenta.

    cheap… LOW CLASS PEOPLE & LOW CLASS SHOW…. that is for ABS CBN, .. while CLASSIC… for GMA why because most of the audience shares are from NCR, METRO CEBU, METRO DAVAO…. while ABS CBN audience caters the classeS of peoples from the far far bondoks of the PHILIPPINES… GOT IT!!!
