Miss World Philippines to Air on GMA-7

While Bb. Pilipinas transferred to ABS-CBN, its rival pageant Miss World Philippines will air on GMA-7.

Last January, Bb. Pilipinas via its chairperson Stella Araneta Marquez has inked a deal with ABS-CBN (CLICK HERE FOR RELATED ARTICLE). For the next 5 years, the Bb. Pilipinas annual pageant will no longer air on GMA-7 as it will now be seen on the Kapamilya network.

Also earlier this year, Bb. Pilipinas has lost the franchise of the prestigious Miss World pageant to Cory Quirino‘s CQ Global Quest Inc. The said company will now hold the search for the country’s representative to Miss World pageant beginning this year.

Now a significant rival of Bb. Pilipinas, CQ Global Quest Inc. inked a deal with GMA Network for the production and airing of Miss World Philippines 2011.

Composer and arranger Louie Ocam­po will write the theme song of the newly-born pageant while sculptor Eduardo Castrillo will design the crown.

Present in the signing of agreement are GMA Network president and chief operating officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.; CQ Global Quest Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Cory Quirino; CQ vice president Vic Alcuaz; GMA senior vice president for entertainment Wilma V. Galvante; vice president for entertainment Marivin T. Arayata; senior program manager Bang Arespacochaga; program manager Ali Nocom Dedicatoria; composer Louie Ocampo and creative consultant for entertainment musicals and specials Agnes S. Caballa.

    You know what, kung bakit lumipat ang Binibining Pilipinas sa ABS CBN dahil, na realize nila na cheap talaga ang GMA. Look, for so many years na ang GMA ang naghahandol ng BBPilipinas, sobrang pangit nang production nila, wala ka effort-effort & now look at the production of ABSCBN last April 10 2011 sa Bininbining Pilipinas umasenso na talaga parang pang WORLD CLASS nah. Trully that ABSCBN ROCKS, while GMA sucks, duh ?
    I really dont know why GMA is such a copycat, what a disgrace in Philippine Showbiz.

    Hindi na hinandle nang ABSCBN ang MWPhil because they realize that they need to share the spotlight to the needy, that’s why GMA nalang, ang pangit nga eh, sana ABS nalang sana ang naghandle, but anyways hindi naman ako ang naghahandle nang MWPhil bahala nah,marerealize rin nila na mali ang kanilang pinili.Let’s see nalang kung ano ang kanilang production, worthy ba o hindi. :”>

    bakit ba ang daming nagkokomento ng negatibo sa gma? porke laos, 2nd rate, etc… sino ba ang hindi gaya gaya? for me it is a nice choice for cory quirino to have gma7 as her media partner… icompare nyo nga ang dating bb. pilipinas pageants sa miss earth… ano ba ang mas bongga? wag kayong bulag at wag maging tanga!!!
