Billy Crawford is Host of Miss Earth 2008

Philippine international pop star Billy Crawford was chosen to host this year's coronation night of Miss Earth 2008.

Billy Crawford (born Billy Joe Crawford on May 16, 1982) is a bilingual Filipino international pop star with musical influences from R&B, Pop, and Soul. Billy Crawford became known around Europe and Asia with song titles such as “Trackin'”, “When You Think About Me”, “Never My Love”, “Steamy Nights” and “Bright Lights”. Billy can speak Tagalog, English, Cebuano and French.

Billy started as an actor when he was a child via the now defunct teen variety show on GMA 7, “That’s Entertainment.” He later launched his singing career in Europe where he released 5 best-selling albums. In 2002, he won the NRJ Best Newcomer of the Year in Cannes, France. The next year, he won the NRJ Best International Male Artist of the Year beating Usher and Robbie Williams.

This year, he hosted Pinoy Dream Academy’s Uberture on ABS-CBN. He is also one of the current hosts of the musical variety show ASAP. He was also named one of Cosmopolitan Philippines’ 10 Centerfold Hunks of 2008.

Aside from Billy, Priscilla Meirelles Almeida from Brazil will co-host the Miss Earth 2008 pageant. Priscilla, who won Miss Earth 2004, is now a ramp model in the Philippines.

Last year, MTV Veejay Greg “Utt” Panichkul of Thailand was the host of Miss Earth pageant.
