Karen Visits Thai Resto of Former Sexy Star Turned Thai Chef on ‘My Puhunan’

Karen Davila goes to Tagaytay to try the sumptuous Thai food prepared by former ‘80s sexy star, Rachel Lobangco, who is now the proud chef and owner of Khun Lek Thai restaurant on “My Puhunan” this Saturday (Jun 15).

Rachel discovered her love for Thai cuisine when she and her mom got stuck in Bangkok for two years because of the lockdown. The circumstances pushed Rachel to learn how to cook Thai food that finally led her to open her own Thai fine dining restaurant inside EP Farm in Tagaytay, which is owned by her mother, Elvie Pineda.

“I learned because wala akong choice magluto. First, I was researching on YouTube, TikTok, pero sabi ko I must take this seriously. Ako talaga ang kumikilos sa kitchen,” Rachel said.

Meanwhile, “My Puhunan” also features the story of Jobet, a former OFW who decided to try his luck in making bibingka. With a capital of P50,000, Jobet started making bibingka that was inspired by his Nanay Mely. After a decade, Jobet is now reaping the fruits of his labor as Ka Mely’s Bibingka now has plenty of resellers and distributors.
