Five GMA Network programs are on the list of finalists at the 2021 New York Festivals (NYF) TV and Film Awards led by Alden Richards’ “Reality” concert.
The country’s first virtual reality concert headlined by Alden Richards titled “Alden’s Reality,” Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (One at Heart with Jessica Soho), Reel Time, Reporter’s Notebook, and The Atom Araullo Specials are among the nominated finalists in this year’s NYF under TV and film.
Alden earned his first accolade for Alden’s Reality after being shortlisted as a finalist under the category Entertainment Special with contenders from USA, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Norway. The sold-out concert was a celebration of his 10th year in the showbiz industry.
GMA Public Affairs programs Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (One at Heart with Jessica Soho)’s “The Woman Slashed On Her Face” episode, Reel Time’s “This Abled” episode, and Reporter’s Notebook’s “Miguel’s Wounds” episode are finalists in the Documentary category for their respective reportage on social justice, heroism, and health/medical information.
Meanwhile, The Atom Araullo Specials earned its NYF 2021 nomination as it made it to the finalists list in the Sports Documentary category for its episode “Dreams of Gold,” which told the story of Filipino athletes.
All content submitted into the 2021 competition were judged online and screened by NYF’s TV & Film Awards Grand Jury of 200+ producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe.
The winners will be announced on October 12 at the annual Storytellers gala taking place at NAB in Las Vegas.
