Team Payaman Proves that Podcasts are for Everyone

  • Team Payaman on their Spotify Original Podcast: “Para ‘to sa lahat ng mga taong patuloy nangangarap.”
  • The Philippines’ biggest creative collective is bringing their own brand of comedy + tropahan to Spotify and proving that podcasts are for everyone.

Spotify, the world’s leading audio streaming service, recently launched the first-ever Pinoy Spotify Original Podcasts. Among the lineup of shows is Payaman Insider wherein Junnie Boy, RogerRaker, Peachy Twice, and Boss Tryke of the country’s biggest creative collective, Team Payaman, serves up some kwentuhang (minsan) may kwenta (rin).

More than bringing their typical wacky antics and irreverent friendly banter to the world of audio, Payaman Insider offers—as the show title says—insider info through conversations at the Payamansyon and the lives of the members of Team Payaman. And they promise that their podcast has something for Filipinos from all walks of life.

“When I became a CEO of Tier One Entertainment, I didn’t have the time to shoutcast games or stream my games live regularly anymore. Not being able to do those somehow gave me the feeling that I lost a platform where I can express my creative self and that’s what got me into vlogging. I loved vlogging because I get to tell the stories of different people in the company and the company as well,” said Tryke Gutierrez a.k.a. Boss Tryke.

“But with the Payaman Insider podcast, I feel like we’re able to bring so much more value to a wider audience because it gives us as creators ample time to share our thoughts and insights in a different kind of environment.”

Boss Tryke adds that he actually tried his hand at podcasting in the past.

“I tried starting out my own podcast about the business of eSports but I never got to do it consistently up until Spotify gave me an opportunity to work on something with Team Payaman. I really love how Spotify gave us the creative freedom for the type of content that we wanted to do. Spotify has allowed us to be our authentic selves in our podcast and I’m really excited to see the audience’s response to what we created.”

Payaman Insider provides a new form of entertainment for Team Payaman’s followers.

As Junnie Boy explained, “With all the challenges we face in the Philippines and all over the world, we wanted to create another avenue for people to be entertained and inspired at the same time.”

Payaman Insider is also a goldmine of content for those looking forward to getting to know more about Team Payaman.

“For sure, it’ll be fun. But a different side of me is what they can expect in the podcast,” said Junnie Boy.

“Filipinos can expect things they haven’t heard yet that happened and are happening behind the scenes of their most favorite vloggers,” teased Boss Tryke.

“Napakinggan niyo na ba ‘yung episode namin about Cong TV? Naku, if not, pakinggan niyo na! Because many people witnessed how he started and where he is right now. And even if we see each other almost everyday, ako mismo, I am still in awe and always inspired by his mindset, attitude, and discipline,” said Junnie Boy.
