Jericho Rosales’ Son Santino is Viva’s Newest Heartthrob
Viva Artists Agency officially launched Santino Rosales, the 19-year-old son of award-winning actor Jericho Rosales, as their newest talent on Friday, August 14, 2020 via an online presscon.
Santino is a professional runway, television and magazine model, a varsity football player, and recently a businessman. He is determined to conquer more opportunities by joining Viva.
At the age of 17, Santino made his debut in the modeling industry through the fashion show of Avel Bacudio. After which Santino became a fashion favorite having been able to work directly with famous fashion directors such as Robby Carmona, Jackie Aquino and more.
Santino is a member of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines or PMAP and has also appeared on the runway for top designers like Randy Ortiz, Rajo Laurel, Joey Samson among many others
He was also spotted at the 7th Philippines Fashion Ball along with the other fashion world luminaries. Santino’s mother is former model Kai Palomares and he is definitely following her runway footsteps.
During the online presscon, Santino even admitted that he’s a Mama’s boy. His mom was beside him while the members of the press are asking him questions. And evidence of Kai’s huge influence to his son is the heartthrob’s passion for modeling.
“I want to be one of the top models in the Philippines when the time comes,” he said.
Santino is also a social media influencer with over 104K followers on Instagram. He was featured in Candy magazine’s “Meet the Guys You Should Be Crushing on This Year” and has appeared on the cover of Garage magazine.
Aside from his modeling career, Santino loves sports. He currently plays football for La Salle Mens Football and previously played for Kaya FC and Pilipinas Dragons respectively. He also loves surfing, and tries to get away to the beach every time he can.
Just a few months ago and in the midst of the pandemic, Santino joined his mom to open their business, the restaurant, KAISANT Skews & Brews in Parañaque. All these at the age of 19.
Santino is currently pursuing Interdisciplinary Business Studies at the De La Salle University. And while for a young man of his age, he may seem to have achieved a lot, he is taking on a new challenge. The 6-footer wants to go into hosting and to expand his modelling career to product endorsements and being a brand ambassador.
But how about acting which his dad is very known for? Will he also pursue this lucrative field? His answer is a quick “no.”
“Simply because I don’t have the passion for it. I was always taught growing up that for everything I do, I have to have a passion for it so I can do it with the best of my abilities.”
But what if a very nice opportunity comes and the project is huge. However, it’s an acting job. Will you still consider it?
“To answer the question if a big opportunity arrives, by big if this means that my career will take a big leap from the path that it’s already taking, then I don’t think I will be inclined to do it simply because I enjoy the path that I’m on. And I would like to be there every step of the way rather than just take one big step into something that I’m not really passionate about.”
We also asked Santino if he’s also open in the world of pageantry since it’s quite similar to modeling. If given a chance to represent the Philippines in, let’s say, Mister World or Mister International, will you consider it?
“Consider it, yes, but so far it hasn’t been plotted into my plans. But again like other things, my door is open for it,” he replied.
Santino also revealed that his showbiz crush is Nancy McDonie of the K-pop girl group MOMOLAND (James Reid’s leading lady in the supposed teleserye project “SoulMate”).
