The Miss Philippines Earth, an annual pageant by Carousel Productions, will make history this Sunday, July 5, as they hold the country’s (and perhaps in Southeast Asia) first virtual coronation event because of the ongoing pandemic.

The final competition of Miss Philippines Earth 2020 will show the 33 candidates from their own locations via Zoom and their intelligence and environmental awareness will be put to test as the panel of judges asks them in real-time. Their points from the interview will be added to the scores they accumulated during the pre-pageant events like long gown, figure, beauty of face, etc. which were also held virtually while Metro Manila and other parts of the country are in Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The top 15 will move on to the next round of competition where they will compete for the 5 crowns: Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2020, Miss Philippines Air 2020, Miss Philippines Water 2020, Miss Philippines Fire 2020, and the prestigious Miss Philippines Earth 2020, in which the winner will represent the country in the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Miss Earth pageant.
