Liza Soberano is the New ‘Darna’

Ricky Lo made a fearless revelation on his Philippine Star column today, May 23, that the highly-coveted role of “Darna” will go to young Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano.

This piece of news that can potentially spoil a “big” announcement from Star Cinema was based from the investigation of Lo’s “Very Deep Penetration Agent”:

Unless there are last-minute changes (‘And no doubt there won’t be,’ according to Funfare’s Very Deep Penetration Agent/VDPA), the final…and perfect!…choice as the new Darna is Liza Soberano. This piece of ‘breaking news’ should put a period to the prolonged guessing game who the next flying woman would be, with names such as Kathryn Bernardo, Jessy Mendiola, Nadine Lustre, Pia Wurtzbach and even Sarah Geronimo thrown into the tambiolo.

‘The Kapamilya actress is now undergoing intense training,’ added the VDPA. ‘The training is being done in a secret place so that there won’t be any ‘leak’.’

Last March 20, ABS-CBN has released a statement that Angel Locsin will no longer pursue the “Darna” movie due to her medical condition. This came after a year when Locsin backed out from the project because her spine was damaged. After the announcement, speculations on who will take the vacated role trended on social media and Soberano is among the list of stars that people want to see as the new Pinoy Superheroine.
