Anniversary highlighted powerful legacy and exciting future for the world’s first Super Hero
Warner Bros. Discovery and DC called on fans around the world to celebrate #SupermanDay on April 18! Across numerous divisions of Warner Bros. Discovery and DC, Superman Day rallied audiences globally to commemorate the world’s first Super Hero through limited-edition products, publishing, podcasts, and more. Divisions of the company included DC Comics, DC Studios, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in the U.S., and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, with special appearances on Superman Day in the U.S. by key figures including DC President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and DC Studios Co-CEO, James Gunn. Superman Day also showcased new looks at DC Studio’s highly anticipated upcoming film, Superman.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products in the region has also collaborated with local premier licensees in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong to release a variety of Superman-themed products, including collectibles, fashion apparel and more.
Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman changed the world of pop culture when he debuted in DC’s iconic comic book Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938. Since his debut, Superman has stood as an international symbol of hope, strength, and kindness to inspire people across generations throughout film, TV, animation, comics, and more.
Celebrate The Hero Within: We Are All Superman
On April 18, DC invited fans around the world to come together and celebrate Superman by wearing the iconic S-Shield symbol, which represents strength, heroism and hope, and share their stories about Superman. Writer, Director and DC Studios Co-Chief James Gunn and DC President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee joined forces in celebration of Superman Day to share what Superman means to them and to encourage fans to tell their own stories about Superman. DC Studios’ Upcoming Film Superman
From Writer and Director James Gunn, Superman—the first feature film from Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios—will release in theaters and IMAX internationally beginning July 9, 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Superman Day Products in the Region
In celebration of the iconic DC Super Hero, fans of Superman can look forward to a variety of themed products in the coming months across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. This will range from apparel and fashion accessories inspired by Superman to consumer electronics and more.
Royal Selangor has released a series of DC-inspired collectibles in Malaysia, including a Superman Metropolis Tumbler featuring Metropolis’ most recognizable landmarks and Superman’s S-Shield in intricate detail, making it a key piece for any fan’s collection. The products are now available at all Royal Selangor stores, authorized dealers and online at www.royalselangor.com.
From June 2025, Spin Master, a leading global children’s entertainment company, will also launch a range of Superman toys and figurines in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong. This will include a Kaiju Slime Battle set and an Up in the Sky! Flying Krypto toy (product availability will vary depending on market). Information on product and market availability will be released in the coming months.
Set to launch in the next few months, collaborations in the region include Superman-inspired footwear and bags by Carlo Rino and sports accessories by Maxx Sports in Malaysia, fashion apparel by Jaspal in Thailand, as well as gift products, consumer electronics and more by Capsule Japan in Taiwan. In addition, fans can soon visit upcoming pop-up stores in Indonesia and Taiwan and a mall activation in Malaysia – further details to be unveiled later.
