Maine Mendoza, 1/2 of the phenomenal “AlDub” love team, emerged as this year’s winner of our annual “Covergirl of the Year” poll as voted by netizens on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The winning magazine cover is from Meg’s November 2015 issue.
Maine bested 7 other finalists in the poll which was opened last December 28, 2015 and concluded at 12:00 noon of December 31, 2015. She garnered a total of 345,430 votes and led the race on Twitter and Instagram.
This year’s runner up is Nadine Lustre who got 307,136 votes just around 38,000 less than Maine’s total. Her cover for Preview magazine was running in third place yesterday and climbed to second place before the closing.
In third place is Kathryn Bernardo who garnered the most number of votes on Facebook with 114,732 nods. Her Sense & Style cover garnered a total of 245,738 votes.
Rounding off the Top 8 are Kim Chiu (#4), Liza Soberano (#5), Julia Barretto (#6), Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (#7) and Jennylyn Mercado (#8).
