White People’s Day: Chris Rock’s joke on the 4th of July stirred controversy.

The White People’s Day joke goes:

“Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks.”

Was Chris Rock really offensive in the controversial “White People’s Day” tweet?

Netizens believe it’s offensive as they used the micro-blogging site–Twitter–to air their outrage. And of course, they are all white.

One of them twitted:

“Chris, find a country you like and go there.”

It’s interesting to note that despite the Twitter outrage, the comedian has not deleted the “white people’s day” joke in an attempt to provoke more discussions about racial equality and discrimination.
