Both entertained thousands of Pinoys at the so-called Mabuhay Fiesta 2012 last June 16.
The weekend spectacle, capped by R&B Prince Jay-R doing a show the following day along with GMA Pinoy TV hosts Krista Kleiner and Susan Ramsey, wished to generate awareness on Philippine history and heritage in what is called as the Bay Area.
Rhian recently appeared at the premiere of the film “The Road” in Los Angeles. In the film directed by Yam Laranas she portrays an unsuspecting victim of a deranged recluse. She is set to play as one of two love interests of Aljur in the upcoming TV series “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko.” The other girl is Kris Bernal.
Aljur, for his part, is expected to be a solution to the GMA Films project “Cono Problems” now officially included in this December’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
Meanwhile, selected Kapuso celebrities entertained more than 100,000 attendees at the Philippine Independence Day Parade in New York. The event, also supported by channels GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV, was held last June 3 at the famed Madison Avenue.
In an interview, Joseph Francia, Vice President and Head of Operations for GMA International, said that the New York Independence Day Parade is a well-watched community gathering in the East Coast part of the U.S.A. He mentioned, “This was another exciting celebration for everyone as we were joined by some of our biggest Kapuso stars for a day of festivities.”
Aljur joined lead acts Richard Gutierrez and Rachelle Ann Go in the glittery march.
