Rocco Nacino bags the title role in the big-budgeted epic movie "Lam-Ang."

According to the epic movie’s director Ana Agabin, it was the film who chose Rocco Nacino and not the other way around.

“Hindi ko pinili si Rocco for the title role… The film chose him. He looks the part. May comic timing siya, simpatiko, maganda ang attitude and has the right presence. Mahusay siyang umarte at ma-galing sa improvisations. Pangatlo siya sa mga nag-audition pero bago pa matapos ang gabi, desidido na kaming nakita na namin si Lam-Ang kay Rocco,” she said via an interview by the entertainment press.

Fresh from his New Movie Actor of the Year nomination from Star Awards and Breakthrough Performance by an Actor nomination from the Golden Screen Awards for his performance in the Cinemalay movie “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwa ang Paa,” Rocco Nacino is excited to start working for the said movie. As a matter of fact, he’s undergoing fight scene training and also fitness training to look more buff for the role of “Lam-Ang.”

“Sobra akong excited kasi napakaganda ng project. It’s a role of a lifetime. Pagbubutihin ko talaga para hindi ako mapahiya. Napakalaking proyekto nito at asahan ninyong ibibigay ko ang lahat para masabing karapat-dapat ako sa role,” he told the entertainment press.

The camera will start rolling for the Ilocano epic movie before Holy Week and its filming locations include Vigan and Tagudin.

Rocco’s co-mainstay in Party Pilipinas, Rochelle Pangilinan, will be his leading lady. Other cast-members include Sharmaine Buencamino, Art Acuña, Alchris Gallura, Nathaniel Britt, Kokoy delos Santos and Alchris Gallura.

“Lam-Ang” is the launching movie of Sarindangan Films.
