Jessica Sanchez Moves On to the Next Round of ‘Idol,’ Jeremy Rosado Gets the Boot

Jessica Sanchez was safe from elimination during American Idol's Top 13 result show on Thursday night (Friday morning in Manila).

Jessica Sanchez makes it to American Idol Top 12. This is a no-brainer because everyone knows Jessica delivered the best performance (during yesterday’s episode) among the Top 13 by a mile. Let’s just hope that there will be no shocking elimination this year just like what happened to Pia Toscano last year.

The elimination process during the results show today was different. The lowest gathered votes from the girls and the boys become the bottom 2. But it’s the judges call to save one of them from elimination.

Here are the results:

SAFE:

Jessica Sanchez
Hollie Cavanagh
Skyler Laine
Colton Dixon
Heejun Han
Phillip Phillips
DeAndre Brackensick

BOTTOM 6:

Elise Testone
Erika Van Pelt
Shannon Magrane
Jermaine Jones
Joshua Ledet
Jeremy Rosado

BOTTOM 2:

Elise Testone
Jeremy Rosado

Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler saved Elise Testone leaving Jeremy Rosado as the one going home tonight.

Other highlights of the show: Last year’s runner up–Lauren Alaina–performed her new song “Georgia Peaches” off her debut album Wildflowers. Top 13 mentor Mary J. Blige also graced the idol stage. She sang “Why?,” a track from her album My Life II: The Journey Continues.

By the way, if you missed Jessica’s performance yesterday, here it is again:
