SEA Games Medal Tally – PHL Now Has 19 Gold Medals

The Philippines remained 6th overall in the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) medal tally with 19 golds.

The Philippines’ latest gold medals came from billiards, archery, bridge and judo.

Iris Ranola defeated fellow Filipino and former World 10-Ball champion Rubilen Amit to win the women’s 9-ball gold medal in SEAG with a score of 7-2. Amit settled for a silver medal.

Filipino archers Dean Adriano, Earl Yap and Dondon Sombrio also won the gold in the compound men’s category beating the team from Malaysia, 225-221.

Judoka Nancy Quillotes, meanwhile, defeated Terry Kusumawardan of Indonesia in women’s judo under-45 kg category to win the only gold medal from Judo so far.

And finally, the Philippine bridge team’s Gerry Alquiros and Mylene Encontro (mixed butler event) won the country’s 2nd gold from this sport.

Perlas ng Pilipinas lost the chance to win the gold in women’s basketball after bowing to Thailand today, 75-73. Their male counterpart Sinag Pilipinas, on other hand, is expected to demolish Malaysia and enter the finals tomorrow.
