Champ Partners with Kitchie Nadal in a Powerful Mash-Up

Walang katapusan ang happiness sa Coca-Cola Music Studio because we have another mash-up to look forward to!

If last time, we witnessed two bands–Callalily and Kiss Jane–fused their hit song together, this time we will witness the collaboration of two solo artists who are former band lead singers. I’m talking about Champ and Kitchie Nadal!

Arthur Bernard Dolino Lui Pio, popularly known as “Champ,” is former guitarist and vocalist of the now-disbanded band Hale. He is 29 years old and the older brother of MYX Veejay Chino.

On August 6, 2010, Champ, together with Hale, publicly announced that they had no more plans in producing more music as a band and therefore disband. This development came after Champ himself announced his intention to start a solo music career.

Last November, Champ released his first album as a solo artist titled “Synergy” and his debut single “Hanging Habagat.”

Just like Champ, Kitchie Nadal also started as a band vocalist before she became a solo artist. With real name Anna Katrina Dumilon Nadal (born September 16, 1980), Kitchie was the former lead singer of alternative rock band, Mojofly.

When she released her self-titled solo album in 2004, Kitchie became a household name because of her chart-topping single “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin.” The album, which won numerous awards, achieved double platinum status and Kitchie followed it up with two more albums, “Drama Queen” (for GMA Records) in 2007 and “Love Letter” in 2008.

As for the Coca-Cola mash-up, Champ will be using his debut single “Hanging Habagat” while Kitchie Nadal is bringing in “Bulong.” The two songs have deep meanings so I’m intrigued and excited at the same time on what will be the uniting message of the mash-up aside from its poignant melodies that will be mixed together.

To have an idea, check out the following music videos…

Kitchie Nadal – “Bulong”:

Champ – “Hanging Habagat”:

Now that you’ve seen the two music videos, it’s pretty interesting how they will combine the two songs together right?
