What could have been just a peaceful demonstration turned out to be a violent encounter between the police and a group of kuliglig drivers last week.

The drivers of kuligligs or motorized pedicabs were protesting an ordinance from Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim that prohibits the use of kuliglis in the city’s major highways. Several individuals from both sides were hurt after the incident.
