Jose Lacaba recollects his Martial Law experience on ‘I Survived’

As a journalist during the Martial Law Era, Jose Lacaba was torn between merely covering events as they happen and getting involved in the movement for change.

Lacaba chose the more dangerous road, was arrested and detained in 1974, and was honed into a gem in the time of revolution.

For two years that he was detained, he suffered various horrific forms of tortures from the agents of the police and the military, all in an effort to extract incriminating information about his perceived “comrades.”

Follow his story of political awakening as he relives his experiences during a dark time for democracy in the country with Ces Oreña-Drilon on “I Survived” this Thursday (Sep 23), after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
