One year ago, Melody Medina got a New Year’s gift one would never desire – a bullet in her head. The seven-year old girl was accidentally hit by a stray bullet right on the top of her head on December 31, 2008.

This Thursday on “I Survived,” Lea Medina, Melody’s mother, will share with Ces Drilon how her daughter fought for her life after the accident.

On their first hospital visit, the nurse advised Lea to bathe Melody and give her some medicines at home. Unfortunately, Melody did not get well and kept on vomiting blood. The Medinas went jumping from one hospital to another to have Melody admitted, which apparently was too much for a girl with an open wound on her head.

Fortunately, through the help of their relatives, the seven-year old girl still managed to live a normal life after the accident with the bullet still stuck on her head.
