‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’ Still No. 1 in RP

It's the last week of the year for Hollywood movies in Philippine theaters and the last movie to top the box-office for 2008 is the Sci-fi flick "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

It’s a slow week in local theaters as there was no new movie that was screened nationwide in preparation for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival this Holiday weekend.

By default, the Keanu Reeves sci-fi movie topped the local box-office for the second week in a row, although it was only able to rake in P13.48 million.

Following closely is Twilight which is now on its 4th week of screening with a haul of P9.23 million last weekend. Twilight is now the no. 1 Hollywood movie in the Philippines for the year 2008 with a total gross of P179,132,250.00. It was able to surpass Iron Man‘s record of P 174.18 million.
