After Edna Luna, Vilma Santos, Alma Moreno, Alice Dixson and Charlene Gonzalez, the Philippine Marimar will now play the mermaid role in Mars Ravelo's "Dyesebel". Marian Rivera is set to rule Philippine primetime television yet again with GMA's much-awaited fantaserye debuting on April 28, 2008.

Marian has undergone rigid training with Marissa Florendo and the Philippine swimming team. She devoted five whole days in learning how to move like a dolphin.

And just like the real Dyesebel in the comics illustrations, Marian will go topless, the way Alice Dixon did when she played the role.

Joyce Bernal is directing the fantaserye with Don Michael Perez. According to Joyce, they will also shoot in Tubbataha Reef to showcase rarely-seen underwater creatures. The Tubbataha Reef is currently competing in the worldwide poll “The New 7 Wonders of Nature”.

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera talked about the fun and difficulties in filming Dyesebel on Showbiz Central. After the interview, the billboard of Dyesebel was unveiled in Edsa corner Timog.
