Now the no. 1 tv program nationwide, Marimar is about to end tonight with a two-hour special showcasing the grand wedding of its main characters: Marimar Aldama (Marian Rivera) and Sergio Santibañez (Dingdong Dantes).

The wedding ceremony was shot in San Agustin Church, Intramuros, Manila, last March 10, 2008. It will be officiated by Fr. Porres (played by Buboy Garovillo of The APO Hiking Society).

The wedding processional will begin with Renato Santibañez (Richard Gomez), Dingdong’s father in the series.

Dingdong’s groomsmen will be played by Marky Lopez and Dino Guevarra. Marian’s bridesmaid, on the other hand, are Starstruck avengers LJ Reyes and Arci Muñoz. Both LJ and Arci are not cast members of Marimar.

Also in the wedding are Manilyn Reyes (Corazon) and Nadine Samonte (Inocencia).

The Primary wedding sponsors are German Moreno and MTRCB Chairman Consoliza Laguardia, Mother Lily Monteverde and Douglas Quijano, and Ms. Wilma Galvante and Ricky Reyes.

Secondary sponsors are Ms. Annette Gozon-Abrogar and Victor Aliwalas, Sheena Halili and Arthur Solinap, Rufa Mae Quinto and Tim Yap.

Asia’s songbird Regine Velasquez, together with boyfriend Ogie Alcasid will sing the theme song “Mahal Kita” which is written by Danny Tan.

Will the star-studded finale finally reach the elusive 50% rating for Marimar? We will see.
