3 Filipinos Make it to Voice of McDonalds 14 Global Finalists

Last December 11, 2008, 5 Filipinos made it to the short list of 35 semi-finalists for the 2nd Voice of McDonalds Global Singing Competition. The contest was participated by more than 3,600 McDonalds employees from 53 countries.


People around the world went online to watch the 35 Voice of McDonalds’ semifinalists sing more than 200,000 times, and rated their performances more than 46,000 times. The top 10 contestants with the most number of votes will advance to the finals.

But because of the outstanding talent of the semi-finalists, McDonalds’ senior management has raised the number of finalists from 10 to 14. They represent 11 countries (Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Perto Rico, Argentina, Canada and the United States.

2 contestants from the Philippines were chosen as finalists and they are Mary Yu and Paulina Bacarat. Both pinays came from Davao. Another Filipino who made it to the final 14 is Candido Revilles representing Canada, the country where he is currently working.
