American Idol Top 8 – Jennifer Lopez Night

The latin heat is…off. American Idol Top 8, despite being mentored by Jennifer Lopez, were not able to bring out latin spirit with their performances. Nick Pedro, Rudy Cardenas and even AJ Tabaldo could have topped this week’s show if they weren’t eliminated (They’re the ones with latin blood).

The three remaining divas Melinda, Lakisha and Jordin were obviously not in their element. Lakisha suffered blows from the 3 judges, Jordin lost some sparks and even the consistent Melinda received negative criticism from Simon for the first time.

Phil Stacey impressed Jlo in the rehearsal but lost significant amount of confidence in the actual performance that caused his voice to crack in the end. Just like Phil, Haley suffered harsh criticisms from Simon. They both received the karaoke comment.

Chris Richardson received mixed reviews, mostly positive. Blake Lewis got the “best of the night” comment. And Sanjaya, with the goatee, was dubbed as one of the smartest contestants ever.

Idol followers are predicting the fall of the divas will start tomorrow with Lakisha exiting first, Jordin second next week and Melinda third next next week. DialIdol measured somehow that it’s either Jordin or Lakisha getting the boot tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s not accurate.

In reality, it’s only fair to say that the Bottom 3 tomorrow should be Phil Stacey (because his voice cracked), Haley Scarnato and Sanjaya Malakar. But AI season 6 is on a different dimension and tomorrow’s result could potentially be the most shocking results show this season.
