In Control: VXON’s New Album, 20:20, Shows-Off Their Clear Vision and Vocals
C13, Franz, Sam, Vince, and Patrick show off their musical colors, as a group, and individually with their debut album, 20:20. More than just a reference to perfect vision, it signifies VXON as imperfect and honest young adults who use music to document life’s realities. This album also defines VXON’s openness to collaborate with other artists such as MC Einstein, G22’s AJ Yape, and Zephanie.
Here, the entire musical narrative also underscores their identity in the Filipino music landscape, adding more to the conversation of that distinct urban pop sound.
True to VXON’s artistic spirit, every member actively participated in the album’s creation either by writing the pieces or producing them. “Nagkaroon kami ng songwriting session. We all know na si Franz ang main composer and producer of the group.
The youngest of the five and the main dancer, Patrick, had doubts at first if he could sing Coco, a sultry dance track written by Vince.
Sub-vocalist and lead rapper, Sam, hopes that this album will open more eyes and ears for VXON. He expresses, “Our goal is to keep falling in love with the outcomeng mga ginagawa namin.
When asked which songs they dedicate to Vixies, the team selected K.N.T. and O Kay Sarap as their top picks.
With this new album, 20:20, VXON proves that even “The Monsters of P-pop” are not afraid to process human emotions, even the good, the bad, and the ugly.
