Lazada Reveals Hyun Bin as LazMall’s First Regional Brand Ambassador

Southeast Asia’s leading eCommerce platform Lazada today announced internationally celebrated South Korean actor and Hallyu (Korean Wave) super star Hyun Bin as LazMall’s first regional brand ambassador. One of South Korea’s most internationally-acclaimed celebrities, Hyun Bin is known as one of the key figures driving the Hallyu with his versatile and award-winning performances. Hyun Bin has starred in numerous successful television dramas and box office hits, including Secret Garden, Memories of the Alhambra, The Negotiation and more recently Crash Landing on You, which garnered him accolades including Most Popular Actor at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards and Most Popular Korean Artist at the Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards. Hyun Bin received a Presidential Commendation during the 2020 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.

For the kick off celebrations of LazMall’s third anniversary and 9.9 Big Brands Sale, the first of the year-end mega campaigns, Hyun Bin will headline a short film capturing the imaginations of fans in a character reminiscent of his popular action sequences. In the TVC, Hyun Bin will star as an agent on a covert mission commandeering a crew of operatives. In a fun and celebratory twist, his character will release thousands of LazMall care packages for the public.
On his LazMall ambassadorship, Hyun Bin said, “I’m very happy to be joining the Lazada family and connecting with fans in Southeast Asia as LazMall’s first regional brand ambassador. Earlier in August, LazMall introduced a new personalized portal, LazMall Prestige[1], featuring an extensive portfolio of four categories with over 50 premium brands such as L’Occitane, Shiseido, SMEG, Bang and Olufsen, Tempur, Dyson, Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger with the latest addition La Mer.
In addition to popular features like Brand Mega Offers and a bold returns policy of up to two times compensation[2] in the Philippines, consumers will gain access to their favourite brands through an intimate, visual storytelling experience. Consumers also have 30 calendar days from receipt of shipment to initiate return of items purchased under LazMall including those under LazMall Prestige.
The 9.9 Big Brands Sale event will bring together the region’s most renowned brands as well as favourite Lazada marketplace merchants, and delight Southeast Asian consumers with exclusive deals and offers via an exclusive curation of time-limited Brand Mega Offers and Flash Sale promotions on September 9 to 11.
Syncing up with the festivities, Lazada’s mascot Lazzie will also make his idol trainee debut via Lazada’s newest addition on LazGames – Lazzie Star. Shoppers can help Lazzie to “level up” to become a Super Star, by completing a series of daily tasks and special missions that will unlock exclusive platform and seller vouchers as well as Lazada Bonus rewards.

Indonesian Surf-Rock Band Panturas to Perform in Manila

Ahead of their stint at Fuji Rock Festival in Japan this month, the acclaimed quartet will be gracing Manila with their signature garage-punk energy and captivating sound
Manila, Philippines —Indonesia’s acclaimed surf rock quartet, The Panturas, is set to bring their high-octane energy to Manila on July 19, 2025, at Sari Sari in Makati City.
Presented by Shoplifters United, the Manila show marks their first-ever performance in the Philippines and will serve as the first stop of their 2025 Asian tour before the band heads to Japan for a coveted slot at the iconic Fuji Rock Festival.
Known for their electrifying blend of vintage surf riffs, psychedelic textures, and garage-punk energy, The Panturas have built a loyal following across Southeast Asia for nearly a decade. Their music evokes the energy of a Tarantino film, only that it’s set in Bandung or coastal Java. Armed with infectious stage presence and global appeal, they’ve carved out a sound that’s equal parts retro swagger and post-modern cool: a perfect match for Manila’s ever-evolving indie music crowd.
For the Manila leg of the tour, the Indonesian band will be joined by a stellar lineup of local acts, including Oh, Flamingo!, (e)motion engine, Pikoy, and We Are Imaginary.

Ayala Land Wins Tambuli for Turning Sustainability Into a Digital Movement

MANILA, Philippines – July 2025 – Ayala Land’s bold commitment to sustainability was honored at the 2025 Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards for its “Step by Sustainable Step” campaign—an initiative aimed at raising awareness and sparking conversations around environmental responsibility and climate action. The campaign was brought to life through a data-driven digital strategy developed by Truelogic, its digital marketing partner.
Launched in 2023, the “Step by Sustainable Step” campaign showcased Ayala Land’s measurable efforts toward its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To help amplify this message to a broader audience, Truelogic crafted a targeted Meta ad campaign that translated complex sustainability data into compelling digital storytelling. The campaign effectively reached audiences nationwide, elevating engagement and public discourse around eco-conscious development.
In recognition of the campaign’s impact, Ayala Land, together with Truelogic, received a Tambuli Award on June 3 at the Grand Hyatt Manila. This milestone also marks Truelogic’s first Tambuli recognition, highlighting how digital marketing can be a powerful driver for purpose-led communication.
