We would like to announce that Online Poll A for the finals of “100 Asian Heartthrobs 2019” has been stopped.

It has been called to our attention that the said poll was compromised. Since the nature of our poll is “unlimited” and there’s no restriction whatsoever, we were informed that a program can be made to automatically refresh the browser and cast votes which can generate thousands of votes in seconds. Even a YouTube video demonstrated how to do this. After investigating our poll yesterday, we are convinced that it was compromised as we see that the increase in votes is not proportional to the page visits in our website.

We decided the unlimited voting this year as per requests by fans who are enjoying our polls (yes, we listen to our readers). However, because of the poll’s flaw in unlimited voting, we sadly decided to halt the voting and cancel its results in the spirit of fairness. We are truly sorry to the fans who exerted their time and effort in voting. But please keep in mind that we are doing this to be fair to everyone. After all, a victory that doesn’t come from hardship and fairness is no victory at all.

So now we are releasing a new poll (POLL B) with cookies and IP address restriction in order to avoid the usage of bots. With the new poll, fans can only vote once every three hours. And to keep up with our social media polls, 1 vote here will be multiplied by 2!
