Actor Matteo Guidicelli and renowned chef Margarita Fores take the exciting food crawl in Italy on the 8th delicious destination of “The Crawl.” This two-part special makes its digital premiere on iWant this Friday (Dec. 14), and airs on Metro Channel on Dec. 15 and 22 (Saturday) at 8 PM.

2016 Asia’s Best Female Chef, Margarita, known for her restaurants, Cibo, Grace Park, and Lusso; and Filipino-Italian actor Matteo, owner of Da Gianna Cucina Italiana restaurant, immerse in authentic Italian cuisine from the cities and regions of Alba, Parma, Milan, Modena, Florence and Tuscany.

The food crawlers went to their cherished spots in the Bel Paese and their food stops included Milan’s Luini Panzerotti. “The legendary panzerotti is a warm, light and pillowy soft dough parcel filled with all kinds of really good stuff,” recalled Matteo, who made sure to munch on his favorites prosciutto, stracciatella and ragu in this adventure.

They also visited Delle Langhe, Eataly, Venchi at the Park Hyatt, the food street Via Spadari, and many more in the show’s first episode. “I love Eataly, I’m like a kid in a candy store going crazy over the produce and products,” excitedly shared the chef.

Episode 2 is a walk down memory lane for the culinary icon as Margarita goes back to the places where she first learned the basics of Italian cooking. Said Matteo, “We’ll go to the vineyards of Tuscany for Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino, Florence for a walk back in time around Tita Margarita’s old neighborhood, and Modena for a most memorable lunch at Massimo Bottura’s Franceschetta 58.”

Their visit to Italy would not be complete without wine tasting and they also interviewed Giovanni Mazzei whose family has been producing wine for an astounding 24 generations.

Chef Margarita said, “it’s never just a glass of wine. Wine is about history, the terroir, love, feud even death.”
