‘Just Love Grand Kapamilya Fair’ Attended by Thousands

Filipino families converged for a fun and public service-filled Christmas celebration with ABS-CBN News and DZMM in the “Just Love Grand Kapamilya Christmas Fair” at Circuit Makati early this December.

Nearly 6,000 attendees enjoyed and benefitted from the event, which offered different services such as a medical mission, job fair, livelihood seminars, and entertainment to the people, as a way for the ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs (INCA) to thank them for their support through the years.

According to ABS-CBN INCA head Ging Reyes, it is an honor for them to serve the Filipino people beyond newsgathering and reporting.

“This is to make our Kapamilyas happy and at the same time to deliver public service. We want to let them know that we are with them this Christmas. This is us showing our love for them,” Ging said.

In the morning, hundreds were able to receive free medical check-up and treatment, medicine, and eyeglasses courtesy of DZMM and “Salamat Dok” and their partner organizations. Several attendees also availed of the free haircut and manicure from “Tapatan ni Tunying,” free facial from “Ma-beauty Naman Po” of Cory Quirino, aura reading from the program “Pinoy Vibes,” and free legal consultation from “Usapang De Campanilla,” while “Failon Ngayon” setup a help desk for inquiries for LTO, Philheath, and SSS.

The attendees also learned a lot from the disaster-preparedness seminar of “Red Alert” with Jeff Canoy, while others got business tips and ideas from the Kabuhayan Caravan of “My Puhunan.”

Some won the chance to start up a rice business with the help of Carl Balita’s “Radyo Negosyo,” while many also finally got hired through the job fair.

Other programs, meanwhile, focused on giving entertainment and amusement to the attendees. People joined the bingo game of “Mission Possible,” the mystery game of “SOCO,” trivia game of “Dos Por Dos,” and “Rated K’s” free videoke, while their children enjoyed the magic show and memory game from “Matanglawin” and the mini-theme park inside the Fair.

People also lined up for free snacks from ABS-CBN Docucentral and “Umagang Kay Ganda,” which also gave away free “Nanay Manuals” containing recipe and household tips, while others shopped for fresh vegetable and fruits from “Sa Kabukiran” of Ka Louie Tabing.

They also got to bond and take pictures with the anchors of their favorite news and current affairs programs like Karen Davila, Julius Babao, Gretchen Ho, Gus Abelgas, and Anthony Taberna, while Kapamilya stars like Melai Cantiveros of “Magandang Buhay,” Marlo Mortel ng Knowledge Channel, Joseph Marco and RK Bagatsing of “Wildflower,” Dino Imperial and Mark Neumann of  “La Luna Sangre,” Sofia Andres and Albie Casino of “Pusong Ligaw,” and the smart and energetic kids of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” also came to perform and greet them. “TNT Boys” Mackie Empuerto, Francis Concepcion, and Kiefer Sanchez, Migz Haleco and Daryl Ong of “ASAP,” and the kids of “Team YeY,” also sang and danced their way to the hearts of the audience together with GirlTrends Jessica, Krissha, and Maika, and Hashtags CK, Wilbert, and Jimboy of “It’s Showtime.”
