Maureen, Minh Tu and Shikin are Final 3 of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5

Rumor has it that the three models who will make it to the finale of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 are Maureen Wroblewitz from the Philippines, Minh Tu Nguyen from Vietnam and Shikin Gomez from Malaysia.

The rumor wasn’t baseless at all because if we are to add the total scores of the these three contestants throughout the season, they got the highest points so far which leaves us to the foreseen elimination of Indonesia’s Clara Tan on the upcoming twelfth episode.

So why Clara? First, among the final 4 she has the worst catwalk. Shikin and Tu observed that Clara walks like a man. Even the judges pointed out from the last runway challenge that the Indonesian model does not walk like a model. Take note that the finale of the competition is 50% runway so Clara has no chance of making it to the top. Second, the judges may have had enough of Clara’s immaturity. On the teaser for episode 12, Clara is having the most difficulty in completing the vertical runway challenge. Who knows she might even quit!

Now for the Top 3, we all know that Shikin has the best walk but we also must take into consideration that 50% of the finale is photoshoot and Maureen trumps her in that area. The judges always say that Shikin has a missing puzzle piece on each of her photo, can she deliver a perfect image for the finale? The judges also said that Minh Tu is too sexy for editorial so she might end in 3rd place leaving Maureen and Shikin battle head-to-head for the title.

Let’s just hope that this finale is not a repeat of cycle 2 and 3 when Pinay contestants were robbed of the title. Or should we just settle for the show’s tagline “Expect the Unexpected”?
