MANILA – ABS-CBN Corp., the country’s largest media and entertainment company, kept its lead over closest rival GMA Network in July, whose new primetime offering failed to shake up ratings.
ABS-CBN had a 47-percent audience share compared to GMA’s 32 percent, based on Kantar Media’s poll of 2,610 urban and rural homes nationwide, the company said in a statement.
The Kapamilya network’s primetime bloc, led by the hit police drama “Ang Probinsyano,” got a 50-percent national audience share versus 30 percent for GMA.
ABS-CBN reported a 34-percent jump in net income in the first quarter to P761 million on the back of its ratings dominance and election ad spending.
“Ang Probinsyano,” starring Coco Martin which promotes Filipino values got 43 percent while the rival network’s reboot of its fantasy series “Encantadia” got 19.9 percent, the network’s only entry in the 10 highest-rated shows.
The reality singing group “The Voice Kids” was in second plane (36.9 percent), followed by Wansapanataym (34.2 percent), Dolce Amore (33.6 percent), MMK 25 (33.5 percent), TV Patrol (32 percent), Home Sweetie Home (25.7 percent), Goin’ Bulilit (24.0 percent) and Rated K Handa Na Ba Kayo (23.3 percent).
ABS-CBN led morning ratings with 42 percent, noontime with 45 percent and afternoon with 47 percent. It was the most-watched network in Luzon (41 percent), Visayas (57 percent) and Mindanao (58 percent) and Metro Manila (37 percent).

Kapuso fantards are questioning Kantar’s credibility. They forgot what station and ratings provider have history of padding tv ratings and bribing sample homes in the Philippines with grocery packs of cheap sardines and instant noodles.
hhaha,their own national tv ratings.hahha
probinsiyano is boring. nakakaumay istorya
Kaya dont be surprised if Probinsyano’s rating reaches to 60%..As Kapamilya,
we have to beat them with kindness.
