Yulin Festival Photos in China Spark Outrage from Dog Lovers Around the World

dogs

British comedian Ricky Gervais, a dog lover, led a worldwide outrage against China’s Yulin Festival after he posted on Twitter brutal photos of dogs being burned and boiled alive for tradition. Apparently, around 10,000 dogs are being slaughtered every year in the Chinese province of Guangxi to celebrate the solstice and Gervais, together with animal rights organizations, are protesting to put a halt to this event once and for all.

You can track the hashtag #StopYulin2015 for the developments of this campaign.
